The East Leake Carnival was a fun, float filled day that happened on Saturday 20 June.
The carnival kicked off at around three O’clock, the roads where shut and the floats began their parade. There were lots of fantastic colourful and beautifully decorated floats representing all sorts of things; schools, charities and much more. But even as the floats moved on the fun didn't end there.
At the East Leake playing fields all sorts of tremendous activities were going on. A dog show was being run by students for East Leake Academy in aid of the Ghana project with venture force, stalls were there selling; burgers, doughnuts, sweets, plants and other assorted goodies. Also, live music throughout the day form a variety of acts: The last days of disco played a set of brilliant rock covers to start off with, then a quieter acoustic set from Wolves in summer including Tori Sheard who will be playing at our next YouNG Market, Kynch a local band who will also be performing at our next YouNG Market and to top the night off fantastically a classic rock and blues band by the name of Main Street.
So thank you very much too all the organisers and marshals who made this wonderful day possible and we hope to see as many if not more people down next year!
