The East Midlands Goes Global

On Saturday 14th November, at Toot Hill School from 10.00am-4.00pm, ‘The East Midlands Goes Global’ language conference for students in years 10 and 11 is taking place.

The day will be made up of three parts; firstly ‘languages at university’ which will involve language taster sessions in Mandarin, Arabic and Russian to name but a few. This part will also involve talks from past and present students reading languages at university, focused mainly on their year spent abroad.

Part two, ‘the world of work’ will be centered around presentations and Q & A sessions with business leaders about different career opportunities languages can open up.

Finally, part three ‘language challenges’ in which students will take part in a selection of language based team challenges and quizzes.

This event is open to multiple schools, not just Toot Hill, and is a great opportunity for anyone hoping to study languages to a higher level. If this sounds like you then make sure you get a place quickly as there are only 180-200 available!
