Searching for a placement year through the Nottingham Trent University Placement website I discovered the opportunity to join YouNG.
Searching for a placement year through the Nottingham Trent University Placement website I discovered the opportunity to join YouNG. Researching the job opportunity it turned into an internship that I became extremely interested in and matched my skillset and the criteria of what I want to achieve whilst on a sandwich placement year. The internship offers a large variety in experience to be gained. My interests lay in Education and Business, therefore YouNG’s reputation of providing young people with business credentials really appealed to me. I have already learnt a great deal of knowledge having only been a YouNG project intern for only 3 weeks now. I have been involved with a variety of different tasks such as running weekly YouNG ambassador sessions, attending networking events, helping to organise and manage a YouNG summer market, presenting to councillors for the scrutiny of the YouNG project itself and on top of all that also taking part in international skype meetings in preparation for the YouNG goes euro trip to Slovakia!
I have enjoyed the challenges and rewards that my first 3 weeks have provided me with, I look forward to finding out what the rest of the year brings!
